Welcome to SJES

Religious Education.

Religious Education introduces children to the key stories and ethical touchstones of the Episcopal tradition, setting the stage for positive interaction with people of other religious traditions, and further age-appropriate learning about them. Stories are selected and shared based on the School's educational theme of the month to reinforce and further integrate the learning experience.

At the kindergarten and first grade levels, students will be able to identify key figures and ethical principles in the Episcopal tradition as well as significant religious observances, including those associated with secular national observances like Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Worship is a key component, as the stories of religion join music and reading, giving children a regular opportunity to apply what they learn in a safe environment. All students attend daily chapel services designed for students of all faiths. We welcome families to join us for Chapel throughout the year.
